New Year's

Was spent with the Starfury crowd, and apparently Clare Kramer, Elizabeth Anne Allen, and James Leary. We're not entriely sure what they were there for, as we spent the entire night focussing on teh party factor. We partied and partied and I calculated that I only had one drink for every 1 and a half hours, which means I was mostly sober by the end, which is just *wrong* on New Years. Seriously. Oh, and I also don't understand the concept of being home on New Year's, due to having been partying since I was 8. Still, after a rather good night, where we went to bed at about 5am, was woken up by Taz getting up to go crash at home at 9am, eventually hauled self out of sleeping bag at 9:45, went to McD's for brekkers - a con hotel at 9:45 that's empty is just *wrong*, I tell you. As is a McD's close to the con that has only one other person in it. Which was another con goer who wasn;t sure he'd get the breakfast in his room. Sat chatting, finished eating, went back, asked the maid politely for towels - they respond rather nicely to this, it turns out, as you're doing their work for them - and crashed until about 1:30pm. Got up, went and congregated with those in the bar who'd got up, and were gradually joined by the living. Slightly odd to have the bar not be open at that time, though. I had to leave due to 7am start tomorrow on my last day (seriously looking forward to crashing and then just getting around to doing general bits and pieces fallen by the wayside with nutso schedule), but as we speak, the rest are all doing a second night of partying.

As for the actual party - well, the sound system went down at one point, we discovered that the original Hustle song is about half the speed of the songs we normally do the Hustle to (and have now added Bros' When Will I Be Famous to this set...), James Leary bounced to the Darkness and other heavy/rock stuff, Dave the photographer's mate Tan was introed by him taking photos of the party, I appear to have taken Cathy's place in con dancing due to the fact that me and Steve were teaching all the newbies the con dances, including Kung Fu Fighting, Claire has proved once again that she is queen of Rollin', and er... other stuff. Helen doesn't look any different preggers than she does normally, but this is probably because she has always been rather large. Many blokes, including the Jedi Chefs like the snow bunny costume, but this is most probably because it has the whole 'santa baby' air about it...

Things discussed : Dave talking of ethics in paparazzi and photographers at premieres, which students do not have, the fact that since Claudia Black is going to be in at least 5 eps of the next season of SG-1 and Ben Browder is the new regular, and RDA will probs cut back even more on appearances, Rygel should be the new head of the SGC. And Anthony Simcoe will be a new System Lord. And Wayne Pygram? The male Tok'ra Barbie. Just because. :eg: Oh, and the actual whatsits of having to manually stuff Sonia into a corset and then making sure her tits are properly in, and the fact that being female means you can get away with anything when it comes to gropage.

Photos of Dennis as Pimp Santa and the elves, hos and snow bunny will follow soon.

NYE resolutions for 2005 : I need to learn dancing. Belly dancing and tango are top of the list. Need to slim, or at least tone up. Sit-ups, here I come... Want to learn another language. Getting a decent job goes without saying. Need to learn yoga, as I'd like to be more flexible than I am. When doing the Cha-Cha slide and I'm the only person over 20 who when on the lyric 'how low can you go, can you go down low, all the way to the floor' can actually kneel down and lie back on the floor with no problems, it is admittedly good. It's just that I'd like to be able to get myself back up gracefully.
