Infernal Affairs

Densely plotted, intriguing, and you keep rewinding to make sure you didn't miss something, because it feels like every line of dialogue, though fairly innocuous-seeming and quiet, is important in some way. Terribly low-key - although glossy and a cop-triad piece (cop goes undercover as triad, triad goes undercover as cop, 10 years later they're put on the case to get the mole in the police/triad) it's nota John Woo of guns blazing and so on. Soundtrack and supporting actors good as well. You get an extra ending option, and am immensely glad that they went with the first, as the second is too abrupt and not anywhere near as satisfying.
Sat through the first bit - where the undercover cop gets 'expelled' from the cadets, and then you get a montage of their rise through each world through the next ten years. I... Slash there was. In merely two minutes. So very much slash. :gibbers: Plus there's possibilities the whole way through. But the fact that you're shown one arresting the other at least twice makes me gibber a bit extra.
Fucking knackered. going bed.
