Going a bit better because I decided to skip over the majority of the gap period and go straight for the ball run-up. If I want to fill any scenes in, I can do flashbacks. Had a family breakfast scene. Realised was entirely ripping off positioning of family around the table from the Pride and Prejudice film. Jane Austen is slowly but surely taking over my novel. Reinforced by the fact that I had bits of Sense and Sensibility (Emma Thompson version) going through my head last night even when I was trying to write the utterly boring bit. Damn you, Austen, and your complete influence on any romantic stuff.

[livejournal.com profile] jamjar is once again evil. Squeeing in general about comics characters, the wondrousness of Peter David and J'onn, and Ollie. With discussion of which male members of the JLA would shag who. The results are fairly obvious, (Clark is attracted to dominating personalities regardless of gender - Lois, Lex, Bruce. Bruce - Robins, Eel, Clark, the list goes on. Black hair and blue eyes a preference. Arthur - completely straight. Utterly straight. Only shags men if there's no-one else and it's a warrior thing - and only handjobs at that. Ollie - so secure in his straightness that the fact that he shags men is almost completely incidental)

Which went further onto the fact that Ollie has probably the most defined family placements for people who aren't actually related to him in the DCU (we're excluding dynasties like the Knights - Starman family to you). Roy and Connor? Sons. Mia? Daughter. Dinah may not actually be with him anymore, but he almost certainly still places her in the 'wife' category. Hal? Man-wife.

[livejournal.com profile] dario007 has come down with a major case of archery love and now wants to do Ollie at a convention. I, er, may have been convinced within about two seconds to re-do Dinah whenever he wants to do it.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] andromakie, is it me, or in season 2 L word, when they had depressive writer-girl's fantasies on screen, were they completely channelling Cole Porter's 'Love for Sale'?
