or to phrase it better, what characters in fandom did you open the book/turn on the tv and your brain just went '...Yes. Hello.' and completely connected with? Somehow your brain went 'where have you been all my life?'.

We're not talking 'learned to love'. We're talking very first scene here. First one you can think of. Not trying to be clever, the first one your brain pulls up. Most people who've read this journal can probably make an educated guess on mine.

:facepalm: only got about 900 words done last night due to knackeredness (god I need sleep) but have unexpected side-effect of writing porn for nano.

...my porn bunnies have gone into overdrive. They're coming up with porn scenarios for random characters that have all of two lines in my *original* fic, let alone fandom stuff. I'm trying to work here! If I'm going to be distracted by *any* plotbunnies, I should be having bunnies for the Indy adventures! Or at least later detailing for the Methos stuff! (like, er, what name Methos will be going under this time, or at least the name Jack mostly knows him by - understand that Jack and him have known each other since well before the whole Horseman thing due to the time-travel. Any ideas, people? Methos? Is that a bit stupid due to it being *highly* unlikely that Methos has gone by that in daily life since, oh, about the Babylonian era to anyone except Duncan? Or do I cop out and go with 'Adam' as the longstanding 'first man' joke?)

Also, one day I will figure out the logic of some Russian nicknames. Most follow a fairly obvious pattern - main syllable with a 'ya' or 'sha' on the end - eg, Piotr -> Petya, Nikolai -> Kolya, Mikhail -> Misha, etc. Alexander -> Sasha makes bugger all sense but then English has those classics such as : Margaret -> Peggy, Mary -> Polly and is probably as nearly a convoluted explanation. English : shortening names and then changing the first letter just to *really* confuse you. (and no, Elizabeth -> Buffy doesn't count since that's nearly always based on a child's inability to say Beth)
