munchkinott, tell me you managed to watch the repeat of the George Gently ep. I didn't manage to get my allotted gay Armitage greaser on a motorcycle who ends up getting tied up and tortured quotient for this evening and I need to vicariously live through someone else's drooling. :mutter:

The robinhoodbbc lot are scaring me again. I'm pretty sure that in other fandoms, the mod is expected to be reasonable and give actual reasons for new rules and so on. I don't go on general show comms much anymore (the few I am, such as for chuck, the fandom is tiny, the mod is almost entirely silent (ah, the halcyon days of a tiny fandom taking baby steps)), but I'm still pretty sure this is not the reaction of a sane/unbrainwashed comm :

:mod has hissy fit and posts up a new rule in response to someone making a post she doesn't like (in this case, fic requests):
newbie : 'um, is there a reason for this rule? Slightly confused, just want clarification.'
someone else : 'Because the Sheriff says so. :)'

... the response? was a quote, Including the smiley face. They did add a bit of 'I think this is why :insert vaguely logical reason:', but I'm sure that in other fandom comms, they're not in the 'we're quite happy to accept that the mod doesn't normally give a reason beyond 'it pisses me off. the end.' camp. They don't actually expect a reasoned answer. I think I may have created a monster.

In other robin hood fandom news, due to the fandom pretty much exploding due to the season finale over the past week, I passed the compilers of the fandom newsletter the metaphorical vodka I'd been slugging all week to try to cope. ...I've never seen someone do the 'I don't normally drink but you're not getting this back' that fast.
