Do not talk to me about South West Trains. First, I got shunted to Bracknell due to them having no staff, and it looks like I'll be there Thursday and Friday too. Tomorrow I'm at the other shop in Reading. Bracknell shop? In a shopping centre. A dead one. Tiny, no passing trade whatsoever. The lunch rush was four people. Four. Suffice to say spent most of time bored and pouncing on anyone who even walked two steps inside. This further strengthens my belief that I work best in places where you spend at least part of the time going insane due to weight of customers.
Anyway, got out of there, got to station five minutes before the 17:50 train back, and... fuck. This one got delayed due to signalling. now it's half an hour delayed, no, 40 mins s we'll be getting the 18:15. Then that gets delayed, enough that the delayed 17:50 will arrive before it. Then said 17:50 gets cancelled. Fortunately one turns up at 18:30, we pile on. Then they turf us out at Wokingham because they've decided to cancel it. Wait 10 mins for the one coming up behind. Oh, and all this time? It's been cold and raining-drizzling and I'm not wearing anything more than a shirt because it was relatively warm this morning. I finally get home at 19:30, due to the good grace of the Oxford train only running a couple of minutes late.
