with pratchett fans. tomorrow, I journey into a field near Hay on Wye to spend an extended Bank Holiday weekend under canvas. With no internet. :gibber: Still can't believe just how much stuff you can take for camping. Starting to firmly believe it's not possible without a car, and have no idea how Reading Festival people do it - or how I did it back then. Admittedly, I didn't have to take my own tent and had no food, or creature comforts with me. One day i may even have to see about getting cooking stuff if it continues.
Reading people are amusing themselves watching the site go up and the dribs and drabs of festival goers leak in (tomorrow, the station will NOT BE PRETTY). We also get amusement from overhearing conversations in the nearby supermarkets about co-ordination of workers, tills, and precisely where they're going to be putting the beer and water bottle mountains. Oh yes. You may hear reports of Glastonbury locals moaning about how it spoils the area. Here, these are stifled and relegated to the green ink brigade on the local letters page as the town turns itself into a well-oiled machine designed to bleed money from middle-class youth. We even co-ordinate their traffic flow for maximum ease of shopping. And Carters, the large camping and outdoor goods store that would be oddly placed in any other town prepares to take a bath in their very own ocean of cash.
True Blood continues to make me a ridiculously happy bunny. Hoyt and Jessica get more adorable each ep. Sookie and Bill - irritating together, apart and doing their own thing, they're rather fun. Tara, you are so bloody bland now. I miss your personality, fucked up though it was. And hey, you actually had your own storyline, not just adjunct to someone else's. Sam, you're also adorable. As is Jason, the dumbest cutest bunny around. Awwww, Terry. :passes Lafayette something to hug and makes soothing noises, though Terry is also good for this: Um. Hi, Eric. Please stop doing that.
I also appear to have been told that I'm going to my first Rocky Horror. As in Pooks phoned me up, asked if I'd seen the earlier email, and went 'right, 17th, 8:30, are you busy?'
