Spent some time earlier looking for pictures of Tink, of which there are *none* on the official site. Eventually found decent ones on fan sites, which are obviously official pics from their quality, but they're nowhere near the site. Most odd. Excuse me, swallowing right now at the sheer amount of detail on that costume. Okay, so the dress is fairly simple, but the leaves and flowers and bits that layer all over it... augh. Augh, augh, augh. Also, must make wings. Should just be wire and some sheer stuff stretched over it, then sprayed with glitter, and they shouldn't be too difficult to stick to the back. I think. Oh god.

Stalked the cheapo clothing stores today lunchtime. No bloody white leggings. Dammit. Why do you all have to have taste? However, I did find a white bodice in Pilot's basement, lace-up at the front. Hallelujah, unlace the front, move the beginning of the lacing down about four inches, and hey presto! That's one bit of complex sewing I don't have to do... Looks like I'll have to make the leggings, though. Bugger. Oh well, that's about nine metres of white cotton to buy tomorrow at John Lewis, and if they don't have any, some lycra for the leggings. Dammit. Will also have to borrow sewing machine again, as I really don't trust the sewing machine parents brought back from Gran's. :looks at the ones in John Lewis and sighs wistfully:

I'm having dreadful flashbacks to the mid-80s when I wore white leggings (my mum bought them for me alright!!)

Nevermind the fact I wore white 2inch heels with them

*the shame*

Wings...

You need to use really thick stiff wire to make your wings. I made a huge mistake when I tried using thin wire coz it was easier to bend into shape. It really didn't work. The best fabric to use is stretchy tights type material (i have no idea what teh stuff is called sorry!) as it stays in place over your frame really well. As for attaching the wings to you... Make shoulder straps out of bra straps. The clear detatchable ones can be bought for about £4 fro M&S and should do teh job perfectly. Attach them securely to the centre of the frame of your wings and wrap some of your wing fabric around the centre to hide where they are attached.

Hope this helps :)
