Right, it's official. They have decided.

Christopher Ecclestone is the new Doctor.

Him off Elizabeth, The Others, various stuff. Am surprised they didn't pick Richard E Grant or Eddie Izzard, but there's one point in his favour - Russell T Davies already chose him for The Second Coming. But still, interesting choice - a rather lean, ascetic Doctor - [livejournal.com profile] mingmerciless has described on hearing the news 'Templar in a Tardis. Quite like the notion of scary, ruthless nutter as the Doctor.'

Also, Ming's evil. Told him about the rumours of Orlando Bloom for Bond and his instant reaction was 'He's the new Moneypenny?' After collapsing in laughter, I went : Mmmm, the images.... Anyone want to see Orli as a terribly neat and efficient MI6 boy in a suit constantly flirting with Bond?

Also, my toes are cold.

Hmm, yep. Ecclestone. I can see it.

Anyone want to see Orli as a terribly neat and efficient MI6 boy in a suit constantly flirting with Bond?

I am not evil. I simply don't see Bloom as a Bond. Then again, my ideal Bond was Dalton.

"Then again, my ideal Bond was Dalton."

Take that back!!!! Sacriledge!!!

The TRUE Bond was Connery, though Pierce gets points just for not being Roger Moore *ick*

To quote someone not a million miles fromhere, "you can bite me! ;o)" ;-)

I stand by my comment - Dalton's portrayal struck me as the closest to Fleming's description and to my mental image of what someone in that line of work would be like.

Christopher Ecclestone is the new Doctor.

So long as when he shuffles off his timelord coil he doesn't morph into Robbie Coltrane... Grand! :-D

Only if it's a prequel and Trevelyan gets first eyelash-batting approval. *snerks*

Christopher Eccleston? Oh. My. God.

Love him, love him, love him. And isn't Russell T. Davies doing the script? Just out of interest, did you ever see the last time those two worked together on the literally Godlike 'The Second Coming'? It was one of the best few hours of television EVER.

After collapsing in laughter, I went : Mmmm, the images.... Anyone want to see Orli as a terribly neat and efficient MI6 boy in a suit constantly flirting with Bond?

LMAO! YES!

Orlando Bloom as Bond? Just...NO. The only worse idea I heard bounding around was Leonardo di Caprio. I'm rooting for Clive Owen, personally. I think he'd make a great James Bond. Although I do love Pierce Brosnan in the role - best since Connery, I reckon.

Am ordering Second Coming off play.com. It will be mine.

And I'm second in line for nominating Clive Owen.

So who's for writing a Bond AU lotrips fic?

Orli as Master Moneybloomy, Serena as M, Viggo as 007...

Who'd be Q though? JRD? Or maybe Hugo.

And all the other boys as conquests of Bondensen, except Bean who is his nemesis.

JRD is the contact of Bond's at the other end. And Hugo gets to be Q. Because you can see him doing perplexed so very well...

Ooo! Ooo! Billeh can be the intel guy who does the reviews of the mission!

I've just realised, as well as Norfolk in Elizabeth, he was the evil bastard Army Major in 28 Days Later as well, wasn't he? In which case, Hell yeah, he gets my backing!

*such* a good choice for teh Doctor! And its kinda good that they didn't go with any of the 'obvious' choices being bandied about in the press. (posted again under the correct login *rolleyes*)
