Dr. Who-ooooo hey! Dr. Who.
Mar. 20th, 2004 10:48 amRight, it's official. They have decided.
Christopher Ecclestone is the new Doctor.
Him off Elizabeth, The Others, various stuff. Am surprised they didn't pick Richard E Grant or Eddie Izzard, but there's one point in his favour - Russell T Davies already chose him for The Second Coming. But still, interesting choice - a rather lean, ascetic Doctor -
mingmerciless has described on hearing the news 'Templar in a Tardis. Quite like the notion of scary, ruthless nutter as the Doctor.'
Also, Ming's evil. Told him about the rumours of Orlando Bloom for Bond and his instant reaction was 'He's the new Moneypenny?' After collapsing in laughter, I went : Mmmm, the images.... Anyone want to see Orli as a terribly neat and efficient MI6 boy in a suit constantly flirting with Bond?
Also, my toes are cold.

The TRUE Bond was Connery, though Pierce gets points just for not being Roger Moore *ick*

I stand by my comment - Dalton's portrayal struck me as the closest to Fleming's description and to my mental image of what someone in that line of work would be like.

So long as when he shuffles off his timelord coil he doesn't morph into Robbie Coltrane... Grand! :-D

Only if it's a prequel and Trevelyan gets first eyelash-batting approval. *snerks*

Date: 2004-03-20 04:17 am (UTC)Love him, love him, love him. And isn't Russell T. Davies doing the script? Just out of interest, did you ever see the last time those two worked together on the literally Godlike 'The Second Coming'? It was one of the best few hours of television EVER.

LMAO! YES!
Orlando Bloom as Bond? Just...NO. The only worse idea I heard bounding around was Leonardo di Caprio. I'm rooting for Clive Owen, personally. I think he'd make a great James Bond. Although I do love Pierce Brosnan in the role - best since Connery, I reckon.

Date: 2004-03-20 04:39 am (UTC)Orli as Master Moneybloomy, Serena as M, Viggo as 007...
Who'd be Q though? JRD? Or maybe Hugo.
And all the other boys as conquests of Bondensen, except Bean who is his nemesis.
