I have actual *plausible* how Superboy could be in the Smallville universe and Clark and Lex still be together bunnies. Kill me now.

And a tad peeved that I forgot my cardinal rule of ebay, which is to refresh two minutes pre-auction ending and missed out on a top I really wanted.

Lionel and cloning experiments, meteor mutants being the only ones that successfully fuse with Clark's DNA, and the only embryo of the bunch that survives more than a few weeks (and thus into full term) is the one using Lex's. His being the only mutation we know so far that hasn't resulted in anything deeply weird - as well as being resistant to disease and quick healing. We, er, go from there...
