Watching Angel, penultimate ep, and we get to see the unveiling of the mysterious evil circle that controls a load of people... and I kept expecting to see someone like Steven Spielberg amongst them. Ooo, Wes with shotgun. Oh, and the Italian episode is pure and utter crack. Grazie, prego, kiss-kiss.

But it's not as bad as this afternoon. Dad walked into the kitchen on his search for coffee in a break from dealing with all the shares and stuff left over from Granny's death, encountered mum making large amounts of Indonesian Chicken (Ayam Pendang Pedis) for tomorrow - cousin's 30th birthday - and then wandered into the dining room where I was making costume #2 for Hyperion. He just grinned and said :

"Isn't this a lovely traditional domestic picture. Mother cooking, daughter sewing, and father working on important matters. Warms the cockles of the conservative heart."

Cue us dissolving in laughter after glaring at him....

So, do you still think Angel's Italian leather jacket looks like a Captain Britain outfit?

<voiceoverman>"Coming to a theater near you this Summer - David Boreanas is Brian Braddock in Captain Britain!"</voiceoverman>

Yes. Disturbingly. And don't scare me like that.

Why, remembering all the other Buffy/Angel actor casting choices for Excalibur: The Movie we came up with? ;-)

Well, many years ago i read the comics my dad and bro collected (much cheaper that way), and was rather fond of Excaliber. Think it was Byrne writing it, fairly unserious but lots of fun :-)

Gosh. I don't recall Byrne writing Excalibur. Huh. Ah well, for me, I liked it too but was happiest when Claremont was writing and Alan Davis was doing the art. Davis' writing stint was pretty good too. Suspect Heather will wade in any moment now preaching the Word of Ellis...

For lo, the Ellis did come unto the storm-wrecked misfortune and victim of crossovers that the title had become since Claremont had left and said 'What we really need here is involvement in shady government organisations, Pete Wisdom, nights out at the pub, Colossus getting called on the carpet, Meggan getting cool new powers and an education, Brian becoming less of a tosser and Kitty losing her virginity!'

And the masses, they did worship at the new prophet's doorstep in East London and leave offerings of alcohol...

Byrne never ever ever wrote Excalibur. Claremont, idiots, Ellis and then :shudder: Raab.

Oi! You dissing Alan Davis, possibly the only man who should ever be allowed to draw Captain Britain?!?
