Sitting in what I thought was a completed Nurse! Elle Driver outfit. (basically a white shirt dress). Have painted the loafers, need to make the hat-thingy out of card and something, and get some white stockings. Put it on and go 'argh! It's loose around the rib cage!' Go check scaps. Grr. She has a slightly different pattern - seams down the front, like my Buttercup dress. So it looks like darts will be necessary...

Read Astonishing X-Men #1. What the hell is this lecturer talking about, a *disease*? Twat. Oh, and we love Emma. So very much. Though I think the move back to spandex is a mistake. Really. At least the leather outfits, you could go 'I am bad-ass and these are also less likely to need significant repairs after every fight'.

Detective Comics I love, as ever, and it has Orpheus in it. And Catalina. Who gets the traditional 'case over, now get out of my town.' Ooo, and Ollie appearance, and Commissioner Akins being a strict calculating bastard... Yes, being a calculating bastard can often be the fastest way to Heather's comic-squeeing little heart, how did you guess?

Sean has just announced that Saturday at White Room will be Mos Eisley Cantina. So, that's a night in honour of the Jedi Chefs, then....

Re: Emma. Agreed. Favourite was "Superpowers, a scintillating wit and the best body money can buy and I still rate below a corpse."

Kitty gets handled very well too, I thought. I liked the little flashbacks as she re-entered the school and I especially loved her retort to Emma, "I'm sorry. I was busy remembering to put on all my clothes"

On the subject of the lecturer, I presume this is to draw parallels with those weirdos in the US who've been claiming the same thing about homosexuality and purport to have a cure for it.

Also interesting to see Wheedon and Claremont apparently competing to see which one can put in the greatest number of geeky references.

Heh. What I wouldn't give to see Straczynski doing an X-book too!

Oh, and the Mos Eisley theme sounds like the excuse I need to get myself an Imperial officer's uniform!
