Well, dashed out of door a few minutes before bus today, with vague notions of meeting [livejournal.com profile] rozk at some point for food, or drinks, or nibbles, and going to Camden to browse and search for bits for costumes. Ended up with absolutely *no* bits for costumes, thought I did get a white bias-sewn skirt (not bias-cut, all the pieces were normal cut, just sewn diagonally so that it actually falls and moves nicely), a suede clubbing top, and some scarves. Bloody boiling and sunny it was, and amount of girls (including me) who were seriously contemplating the indian-style floaty skirts and loose tops and linen things. I seriously contemplated, and then the treacherous little voice went 'when the hell would you wear it? You have sarongs. And this nice white skirt you've just bought.' Foiled again. Though admittedly the scarves come under 'you'll probably use it in a costume at some point'.

Met up with Roz, decided to eat with her in the new-for-summer bit that was by the canal, which had interesting and tasty looking food, unlike the normal camden market stuff, which is 'Thai, Indian, Chinese, all comes under heading of curry, rice, noodles, and vegetables and looks the same. Or overpriced not-that-great pancakes.' Instead there were japanese dumplings, bloody gorgeous arepas and cane sugar drinks off the Venezuelan food stall, and Greek stuff, and strawberries and cream with belgian chocolate. Also fresh lemonade and fresh strawberry juice.

Dammit, forgot to buy that union jack vest I saw. Need one for alternate Jenny Sparks outfit. [livejournal.com profile] odangochan, I commend you for your Swift choice, but are you sure you wouldn't want to do the Engineer? Angie's very shiny.

Tried on the bodice thing I picked up from Pilot many moons ago with a vague notion of doing Ghost sometime. ...No. Definitely not. It'd work well as an Emma Frost bodice, but really not as a Ghost one. Hmm. Could possibly do outlaw cowgirl without difficulty for Law and Order night....

I am still not entirely convinced that a current Emma Frost outfit is actually physically possible in the real world!

God, no, not the current one, I was thinking of more the classic 'bodice and skintight trousers' version. The current one is theoretically possible, but I'm more inclined to think that the majority of it is body paint sprayed with sealant.

Ah. Fair enough. Never thought I'd see the day when the Hellfire Club/White Queen outfit was the more practical/modest outfit!

Shiny tempting, but I've done the body paint thing before. Besides, WINGS!
