Have just had a review from ff.net for the pieces of Dir fic I have up there. With the weirdest fucking reviews I've ever had.
'hey. this was very funny. i laughed a lot. you should make it longer.'
.... the fact that it was a short fic didn't escape your notice?
'this was good. not as funny as the last one but it was good'
Possibly because this one was not meant to be funny. I apologise for it not being funny, but not everything I write is meant to be funny.
In other news, Sky Captain and the World of tomorrow just brings out the pure geek in me. Absolutely unashamed thirties pulp, with sepia-toned fuzzy visuals and biiiiiiiig robots. And planes and really cool machinery that they got the ideas for from comics! Eeeeeeeee! Jude Law is great as constantly exasperated Sky Captain (Joe), and Gwyneth Paltrow was just made for 'Annoying feisty reporter (tm), who are exes and constantly squabble about the break-up of the old relationship. Every few minutes, whenever there's a spare moment, it's 'Confess. You were seeing someone else. Who was she?'. While the other goes 'Confess. You sabotaged my plane, didn't you?'. It's fucking fabulous.
Angelina Jolie as Frankie. Excuse me, doing some more squeeing. So very, very cool and air/water ace.
And for the slashers? Joe/Dex. It's so canon. And so a couple. They're either bantering over the comms or Joe's entire reason for going after the baddie and getting people to help him is 'They've got Dex!'.

Date: 2004-10-20 08:19 am (UTC)As for OT3s... the bit where they wake up in the temple, Joe's smirking something terrible, and Polly goes 'turn your head' ... and there's Joe's Eastern European mate. Monks dirty minded, yes?
