Went to see The Dresser, which is Nicholas Lyndhurst and Julian Glover, about one night of the backstage of a touring rep company, doing King Lear that night, focussing on the lead actor and head of the company and his dresser. Fucking superb. Nicholas Lyndhurst as the thin, drawn *grey* incredibly camp and fussy dresser who has to cosset the overweening ham that is his lead actor, first into even appearing, then through the show and afterwards... amazing. If you ever get the chance to see this play, do. One particular piece of note is when all the cast and company that aren't onstage is them having to produce the storm during King Lear, and previous to that, the transformation of the actor in the makeup process.

Geeyah. Fingers fricking freezing.

Oh, and new thing over the train tannoy. Stopped outside Guildford, with 'sorry ladies and gentlemen, the brakes have locked, and we have to blow air through them to get them to un-sieze.'
