Boxing Day
Dec. 27th, 2004 01:11 amWorking, relatively freezing due to the temp dropping and me being on front tills all day (ie by the open doors). Amazingly, not all the shops were open. Many were shut. It was a *really* quiet day - I don't think enough was really spent to justify us being open, considering. Though the Oracle (name of our main in-town shopping centre, named after a local thing) was pretty packed, and I was nowhere near stupid enough to go either anywhere near the returns desk in M&S or House of Fraser or Debenhams.
Got home, red many Yuletide stories, missed bothe Miss Marple and the Rupert Everett/Ian Hart Holmes story, dammit.
mamadeb has a cool bit on secret identities here, though it's
fernwithy's comment that's really revealing about the shift in perception over the generations on the subject.
And the bastards ate the rest of the beef wellington at lunch today. Dammit, I was looking forward to that, because cold beef wellington is bloody gorgeous.
Tomorrow, want to go see Phantom of Opera, make the yeti boots and tack the fur trim to the snow bunny outfit.
