Or, screaming 'You can't end it *there*!
Eeep. Right. Er. So.
Um. Yes.
1. Who else thinks that the new generation of God's children will be the Boomer babies? One Helo-baby and one Chief-baby, since it's not like anyone would have thought to check for pregnancy when Boomer tried to commit suicide. And wouldn't they be cute?
2. Adama-shot... gyeeeah. Course, he's going to survive, but I still can'ty believe they got that bit of cylon programming in. Talk about last minute 'wtf?'
3. Six needs to fight more people. I love it when Six is vicious. Actually, I love every moment Six is on-screen. Considering at first we thought she was just going to be sexy-cylon and therefore boring.
4. Hmm. Well, Lee is obviously going to get out of the cuffs because he's the most senior after Tigh in the military, and they've got to run it somehow. But wow. Screwed-up as *hell*. And I wonder how long Roslin's going to stay in the cells. Still can't believe Adama did that. It's in his personality, yeah, but meep.
5. All praise Determined!Billy with a backbone. Yay! And his 'tell me he/she's not going to do this' conversation with Dualla was so very cute.

Date: 2005-01-27 07:42 pm (UTC)She is indeed the President but it's been made clear throughout that Adama is in charge when it comes to military issues and there's always a process for removing an unfit head of state, especially in emergency situations.
OK, we as viewers know, because it's in keeping with the tone of the series that Roslin will be right about the Arrow of Apollo but from Adama's perspective, the President, who's been making all sorts of increasingly weird visionary pronouncements as a side-effect of alternative medical substances, induces one of his officers to disobey orders behind his back, take with her an irreplaceable military asset and put in jeopardy a major military operation, you can see why Adama might conclude the President is now unfit and has to be removed.
It is also, as you point out, in keeping with Adama's nature - note the way he had the Master At Arms' duly constituted Cylon enquiry shut down even though she was still within her frame of reference, but I figure the consitutional situation may not be as clear cut as Adama simply staging a military coup.
Of course, that is one of the things I love about Galactica - issues are not conveniently black and white (i.e. heroic soldier vs conniving politician or evil militarist vs freedom-loving civilian). Instead, we have Billy and Dualla's exchange: "Tell me he's not going to do this" vs "Tell me she's not going to make him"
I know I keep saying this but if you like Galactica, you reallys should try Babylon 5. Its politics has the same grey, murky feel.
