Brain has decided that there's certain fic I'd like to finish, (not that it ever will be), one of which is the Vince-the-priest encounters Stuart. My only problem? There's not much chance of Vince being Catholic. Even though being Catholic would mean lovely angst and so on and manfully trying to resist (in the Manville Fenn version of manly, of course) Stuart and Hazel getting to yell at Stuart for trying to tempt Vince. Even though she thought Vince was nuts in the first place for becoming a priest.

:sigh: Can anyone think of any reasons for Vince to try resisting Stuart even though he's an Anglican priest? Because the thing about Vince? All the parishioners know he's gay. Even in the series, the only place he was in the closet even vaguely was at work, and that was because everyone was fairly oblivious.

do some anglicans take a vow of celebacy anyway.. even though they don't have to?

I'd suggest a serious boyfriend who he doesn't want to cheat on, but the whole point in QAF was that Vince never dated anyone else coz he was obsessed with stuart IIRC so I'm not sure if that would work for you... Oh, but there was Peter O'Brian so maybe it would.

maybe if the parishoners know he's gay and like/acept his partner then you could have gossips saying things about Stuarts arrival that cause problems so vince tris to cut himself off to stop the gossip?
