Continuing reaction throughout the ep : WTF?
Other reactions being giggles, '....' and 'my god, it really is family viewing.' (family and kiddyhood viewing on UK tv always being slightly weird and off-centre) Ecclestone as the Doctor is much the same. Innocent/fool factor, terribly nuts, efficient, impatient with the world and very gleeful.
The effects are terribly crap. But we forgive them. You know you want to watch it.

So, I take it this isn't a repeat of the 'Oh Doctor, you're PAUL MCGANN! *sexx0R*' disaster of 1994? 'Cause... I could get the Dr Who lurrve back y'know? So long as the effects are craptastic and Ecclestone's fully kitted out with enough jelly babies to sink a ship.
*approaches TV with caution*
Is 3 weeks long enough to prepare for the potential trauma though?

Ok, that's giving me nostalgic tinglies. Providing their Cybermen still can't stand gold lame and the Daleks throw a hissy at an escalator... *tingles*
Not even a hint of Mcgann in there. And really, they should've known that Dr Who doesn't work as a concept if you try and make sexy scientists part of it.
You mean I can just forget the whole other kind of tinglies Teh Ecclestone has a habit of giving me? 'Cause... Rilly... That's the part that worried me. ¬.¬
I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for old gravel pits at some points, though admittedly they are filming quite a bit in Cardiff, so that's almost as good.
Grrrrrrrrrravel pits! Oh if they would but do a bit in a gravel pit. I have missed the once ubiquitous gravel pittage location imaginativeness of British TV. *sigh* Danger UXB - gravel pit. HHG - gravel pit. Blake's Seven - gravel pit. Sharpe - UKRANIAN gravel pit.
And you know you want to d/l it. :tempts:
I'm already addicted to Stargate: Atlantis, have odd compulsions to watch ye olde X Files episode in a obsessive kind of way and COULD have a serious dependency on NCIS by the end of the marathon on FX this weekend... Do I really NEED another fandomish moment of squee?
Ok, gimme the URL. *clicks fingers*

Date: 2005-03-09 12:20 am (UTC)And you can never have enough fandomish squee, in my experience. Or gravel pits. Admittedly SG-1 try to make up for it with tehir ubiquitous pine forests, but it's just not the *same*. :sigh:

Yes, but you do have to respect and admire the fact that the SG-1 gravel pit and token pine forest has been a stalwart of 80+ episodes of XF, MacGyver AND is currently doing a good run with Stargate: Atlantis.
Go. Canada.
Sadly, they'll never beat Dorset. They need more gravel.
