Weekend paintballing = owwwww

Saturday was con geeking. heh.

Went paintballing as it was Sloopy's birthday. Tiring, as all your adrenaline goes very quickly and you're charging about, far too many Starship Troopers references from the safety lecture onwards up to and including 'MEDIC!' when someone's hand got done at close range (and dammit, just realised no-one used 'the enemy cannot use a weapon if you disable his hand'). Have ring-shaped bruises all over legs, a few on arms and one on hand. Andy got a rather spectacular one by virtue of being hit twice in the same spot two game running. You get hit more after you've surrendered and thus have to walk through the crossfire. The pellets hurt *more* when they bounce off you rather than explode.

It would've been more fun if the other side hadn't had a lot of jerks playing and cheating on a regular basis.

Ouchie! I went paintballing in the summer and I still have a small shadow of a bruise on my leg that has never fully healed!

Heh. You should see some of the gory/bloody details she provided me via IM! Salutory reminder of all the reasons I took up airsofting and have never been paintballing since. Besides, our guns are cooler.

Well, aside from Andy's spectacular, Alex now has one that looks like he got a rather vicious lovebite on his neck.

Thing you never think about bruises : they are, in reality, internal injuries...

One of the last times I went airsofting, we completely outclassed in every game because other side had a small, highly proficient group of regular players. However, they also had a bunch of spoiled, cheating, undisciplined Italian teenagers who incurred so many penalties, we still won on points!
