costuming lalala
Apr. 9th, 2005 12:05 amWell, Saffron is nearly complete - cursing Simplicity because they don't believe their peasant shirts should be at all fitted, even those with elastic shirring around the ribcage as an option. Next time I use the age 11/12 fitting. (note : if you are a size 10-12, US 6-8, a kiddies t-shirt age 6-8 will fit you) Spent several minutes taking the fucker in. Tomorrow it's hemming the bottom and finishing off the edge where you stick the tie in for neckline, and sticking a button or catch on the inside of the skirt. I love wraparounds, I really do.
Otherwise... The cowgirl costume from Bad Girls is all bought/already owned bits. Re-edging Meg skirt, make more gold disc thingies for collar and finding a way to close the belt. Probably big-arse poppers. Then see if I still want to make the Amidala costume which is the Saturday night theme, post-costume competition, which is what Saffron is for. Which admittedly is fairly quick, it's just... cutting lycra and so on. Meh.
