Aka pubmeet at John's. Where there were trips to Asda, me sulking on the way to Newbury having managed to take the A4 and the M4 and thus not allowed to go above 50 mph and being confronted with traffic lights even though there's no turnings possible.

Jo and john found it most amusing that I'm a food snob and long for Waitrose, damn the pocketbook. :whines: Can't help it, dammit, it's how I was raised.

Once back, headed for pool. Where Liz, Tors, Jackie and me were complete tarts in bikinis. That and we kept being picked up and dropped for the splash effect by other people.

Met [livejournal.com profile] mrmrsmith, who is very nice, replies to the Batman vs Superman question with 'Green Lantern. Specifically, Kyle Rayner.' The boy wins *so* many geek points for that. He has apparently been warned about Taz and me, who he'll be sharing with at Prime and Serenity Squared. We're going 'er... what were you warned *about*?' Was also warned by the rest of us about Jedi Chefs, a feature of british media cons. He also can now say with complete truthfulness that he's shared a bed with four women.

Watched bad tv, specifically 'top ten/top 50' lists on Sky, being entirely correct in From here to Eternity (the one with the couple rolling around in the surf) getting high placed in Best Kisses Ever and predicting that Gone with the Wind would *so* win it. It was beaten. By the Tim/Dawn kiss from The Office. Cue large amounts of 'WTF?' I adore the Tim/Dawn kiss. it's just... how the fuck would it *ever* bet Rhett/Scarlett? Oh, and large amount of Diana kisses in there. Cue lots of things being thrown at screen and bad jokes. Celebrity Mingers was spent howling 'since when is he/she ugly and why isn't Chris Evans placed higher?' (mention of Chris Evans also included discussion on how fabulous Billie Piper is in general)

Sunday spent getting up late and then lolling in the sun and geeking fannishly, with added me going 'but Scalextrix is more fun to watch!' when most of the blokes settled down to watch the Grand Prix.

Decamped to Crawley for Cathy/Kristen's birthday bash/Jo's leaving do. Much, much squee over various things including the subject of Ben Browder's complete comfort in leather trousers vs. Daniel Jackson in SG-1 (I think I performed that scene about five times for various people) and the new series of BSG, Ming booted out the door soon after he came in to go and get a copy of the new eps. Saw Paul's Worldcon art, which I'm in, though my hair is apparently brunette in it.

Tonight, Jo's, where we decamp from at Midnight to go queue for Guys and Dolls tickets for tomorrow.

Grrr... That came as a shock. Really wasn't expecting that Paul and Cathy, obsessive TV fanatics that they are and equipped with broadband, weren't downloading stuff themselves. Mind you, Sally might have anticipated this - if she was burning SG-1 and SG:A for Cathy, BSG was another obvious candidate!
