Mmph. James McAvoy and Keeley Hawes, set in a Michelin starred restaurant, where Duncan's taking all the credit for Macbeth's work. Ella Macbeth being the Maitre'D, rest of the them chefs, Macduff's the head of the house. oh, and the three witches are binmen who turn up outside the restaurant to collect the night's leave-takings. The blasted heath being the local rubbish tip, where they're discussing what they've got in their sandwiches. How much does that rock?
Anyway, fabulous. Maybe didn't gel as perfectly as Much Ado did, but still, so very damn good, with amazing performances and set up. There's been so much thought gone into these.
Special mention has to go to this bit :
"What, like Gordon Ramsay?"
:tumbleweed:
"Never mention his name."
"You never mention the name of the Scottish Chef in this kitchen."
Fucking fabulous. Great acting. Roll on Taming of the Shrew...
Cutting out white lycra to cover bikini. Bit of a botch job, but oh well...
Still got to review Swan Lake.
Oh, and went to see Taming of the Were-Rabbit. no pun or joke left undone, so much detail and so much fucking fun.

Date: 2005-11-15 01:35 pm (UTC)I liked the reference to the 'all the world's a stage' speech and the resurfacing of the eternal literary conundrum of 'How Many Children Did Lady Macbeth have?'. Loved the bin men. Man squealed like a girl with the joy of recollection when he realised who they were meant to be.
