Hmp.

This costuming malarkey, aside from being ridiculously addictive, has far too many hidden bits.

Become a seamstress, they said. Learn to make clothing, they said.

I'm sure they never said anything about DIY, painting, model-making or anything else. Seriously. Had this thought last night as I was using the hacksaw for the first time in my life to shorten the sticks for Teyla's workout outfit, and then reaching for the sandpaper. Others have had to learn metal-working. It's almost as bad as being an art student, where you not only have a toolbox for your art supplies, you have a normal toolkit as well, and masking tape practically lives on your person along with a knife. (If you ever want masking tape or a craft knife, ask a photography student and they can normally produce some in 30 secs) In the case of sewing, it's scissors, needle, thread, safety pins... and pliers and duct tape.

Was going to bed last night at 1am, looked at the top that was hanging up in the bathroom drying, and then went 'argh, needs more detail!' I looked up from washing my hands of paint and it was 2am.

anyway. I will be at Pegasus One once I've finished burning my brain with the xml editor at work, my suitcase is ridiculously heavy due to the alcohol, and [livejournal.com profile] mingmerciless has reminded me to ask Jason Momoa if he'd ever consider playing Bishop if they put the character in the X-Men films.

Oh, and for anyone who hasn't seen Brokeback to the Future yet, try not to kill yourself laughing, though you might need to bleach your brain. I may have to do this anyway for my own good, considering I can pretty much quote BttF III dialogue perfectly.

This is where I find Hunter and his brother come in (big flexi-mdf bustle on casters) though I find myself needing to source so bike inner tubes, some liquid latex, some other tubing, a load of masking tape and some of those things for inflating bike tyres without an actual pump...
