Things done : another stack of stuff brought down from Reading, put the clothesline up. Bought blue jeans.

Went Collectormania as a 'fuck it, everyone else is going'. Caught up with a few people, looked around the dealers' stalls, bought some things - two SGA fridge magnets, print of a cover of Sandman Mystery Theatre for the wall, Monsters Inc dvd, Willow dvd. (which also involved caving and getting Warwick Davis' autograph - I don't see the point of autographs for the sake of autographs. I'm a conventions girl. However, getting the chance to gush and point out that he was my first fangirl squee due to being Wicket when I was four made the extra fiver all worth it. My rationalisation was '15 quid for the dvd, 5 quid for the autograph and photo with him' rather than the other way round that most other people there seem to think of it - and now I have such a need to watch the Madmartigan/Sorcha scene where she kicks him into the dirt post-kidnapping with 'What happened to 'the sun rises in your eyes', you bastard?') But still, fucking odd place. Was also one of the few people to be dressed up - did fighting outfit!Teyla, as it's comfortable and easy - and my god, the sheer amount of stares I was getting from blokes, both fan and muggles. I wasn't showing cleavage! The skirt covers more than several of the chavs around the shopping centre were wearing! Also, stray out into the non-convention space of the mall and see the stares. Now understanding what others have previously gone on about about feeling uncomfortable. And NO, I AM NOT GABRIELLE OR XENA.

Happy moments that make others boggle: me seeing con regulars, running over and hugging, as well as getting picked up and spun around. The real making-others-blink was Kurgan, who was wearing his Hawaiian Sith robe and had me bouncing into his arms squeeing 'Master!' and him replying 'Padawan!' as he hugged me. See lots of people around going '...I don't think I can even begin to figure that one out.' Also, Vince, Kristen's mate who bears a scary resemblance to Ewan Macgregor and does the Obi-Wan for the UK Garrison (Stormtroopers as approved by George Lucas, collect for charity) is a very nice man. Who cannot stop grinning when people do double-takes and little kids do 'ohhhhhhh' when seeing him - he also does the accent.

NOTE :[livejournal.com profile] juleskicks will die. She's not only got me planning out entire reams of backstory and detail for her Sharpe/Buffy/Firefly 'verse, including how Ramona and the other Rifles fit in, how Ramona met Harper, how Sharpe and Buffy first shagged, how they met, how Simon got contacts to break River out, not to mention random Wes-Faith in that universe, where Buffy fits in - I've claimed official muse accreditation on that story, considering she's been doing the 'feed Heather an idea, see her plot it all out for me'.

Noooo, she also gave me Buffy Ultraviolet bunnies for her Given challenge. Bitch.

*cackles*

If it makes you feel better, I've started writing snippets. There may be Ramona yelling at Sharpe and Harper to help Buffy because if no one helps a lady in a gunfight, it's no wonder she's died. Also...
Two Years Later [after the breakout etc]

"We need a pilot," Ramona snapped again as they broke atmo, and did so rockily at that. "The ship doesn't like your flying."

"She's not complaining, you are," Sharpe answered.

"Scares the horses as well," Harper added. "Entries like that."

"Whose side are you on, Pat?"

"Not complaining?" Ramona demanded. "Are you deaf, Richard? Listen to her, she's screaming at you!"

"That's you."

"You'll KNOW when I'm screaming."
Oh, Ramona. We heart her so.

Which reminds me, have you watched Part 2 yet?

Sharpe\Buffy/Firefly? Well... two of my three faorite things! If I didn't already have a magnificent lovely dame I believe I'd love you for your imaginiation. I'm not a Buffy fan, though Amanda is changing that... I'm curious about this idea of yours. Please use small words since I'm a Yankee exiled to Texas & living amongst the philistines has blunted my wit.

Thanks y'all!

not yet, but tonight I watch Slither, which involves Nathan Fillion being silly. Previous to that, was watching the recent House eps.

...what? It's an excuse.

Willow dvd. [snip] - and now I have such a need to watch the Madmartigan/Sorcha scene where she kicks him into the dirt post-kidnapping with 'What happened to 'the sun rises in your eyes', you bastard?')

Fabulous film, Willow. My favourite's the bit just after the double-headed monster appears during the fight at the deserted castle. Possibly the best double-take sequence in movie history.
