Doctor Who : k;fghpi arut b#uow~S 'edgot .
Really. Sophia Myles is fucking fabulous. The scene where she takes control of the whole court? The her and Doctor scenes? ikhakhg.
Doctor in general. Mickey shrieking. THE HORSE! Rose realising that Mme de Pompadour is fucking cool and no words shall be said against her. The way they did the connections. Rose taking control of situations - she's grown up *so much* since early first season.
'You can't keep the horse.'
'Why not? I let you keep Mickey.'
EWHEHEHEHEHE. Am so reminded of the Nine/Jack/Rose icon that has Rose turning and squeeing at teh Doctor 'Can I keep him?' that someone has.
But all in all, all of us going 'ohmygod *love*'. And then
mrmrsmith made us very nice dinner.
Also, Slither. Comes under heading of 'interesting but odd' as it's more of a drama with horror and comedy bits than a horror comedy. Cool effects, good acting, some bits that were definitely 'eeeyagh' and some laugh out loud bits. Bonus points for all the reactions and dialogue being, well, what you'd expect people to say or react in that situation. Nothing especially clever about it, just *normal*. It's kind of like watching a Mike Leigh film, where all the dialogue sounds very natural because it's all improvised. As a movie, I think the best comparison would be Tremors. it's got that kind of feel.
Bonus points : us all going 'I know that shirt!' on seeing Nathan Fillion's character in a horrific orange/red flannel shirt. Wardrobe using actors' actual clothing once again.
Walking home and Jackie trying to compare the slug-things to skinned penises. Me shaking my head and pointing out that they're more like internal organs or tumours. Her protesting, me pointing out that I look at pictures of this stuff every damn day therefore I overrule her.
Speaking of which, the latest gross-out photos belong to a case report on a woman with rampant fibrous keloid tumours for the last 29 years. Not much grosses us out. But occasionally, just occasionally.... (click on the 'provisional pdf' link at the side and scroll down to the bottom for these. photo 3 is *after* treatment, photo 1 is pre-treatment. This may not be safe for work.)
To do : repair the bikini covering, get my heels repaired, post office, make the padawan sarong.
