burntcopperWell, we have broadband in t'flat now, though yet to get wireless so am on Jackie's comp. This does mean I can read flist and mail somewhere other than work, though.
Also. Am back from con (Not Fade Away - last big Angel con in the UK). Little sleep was had. A trip to the hospital was had, as was one bout of food poisoning. The new night manager has a *lot* to learn about conventions, including that we are paying guests, drink the bar dry, are quite nice people and therefore do not deserve to be treated like scum. And several of the staff and regulars want breakfast at 6am when it's quiet, not when your little trying to control us tickets say we should. Amazingly quite a few of your underlings already understand this. Photos with guests were taken, the Jedi Chefs dressed up as Allo Allo, and some nutters did 'Starfury of the Dead' - a Shaun of the Dead using Sean Harry, Dave the photographer, Kurgan and random steward. See guests collapse in hysterics. Tors and Liz did Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked, with Sonia as Dorothy, and everyone tried to steal the flying monkey. Simon has proposed Topp Trumps using convention regulars, with strengths of drinkability, danceability, asking questions, etc. Proposed the wild cards of staff and Sean Harry, as well as the wild cards of Nekkidness. 'Heather and/or Clare have appeared. All Newbies will be stunned into silence and gaping for at least two minutes. This cannot be used against those who have been to more than two cons. If it is a Clare card, you will also have lost money then and there.'

obsessedmuch? I feel the need to make you jealous by stating that I've been to *2* Kane concerts this weekend. Thppppbt. One at the con, which was better, one gig tonight at Earls' Court with support. Oh, and they've just got a contract with RCA, so Yay! Btw, for the con one, was on front row again. 'Tis a hard life being a steward.
Ian and Jenny were drawing up the family tree of staff/stewards - wives, daughters, girlfriends, adopted sons, husbands, divorced and so on. (Ian currently has seven wives at the last count, to give you some idea). I'm now on there in my own personal branch as the Indentured Servant, and got referred to as such a few times at the weekend. also got recognised as 'Bikini girl!' several times over the weekend, and explained to quite a few girls that your attitude to clothing kind of flies out the window when you get the heat rash of doom that looks like some kind of plague, and when you've done nude modelling.
They're trying to persuade me to go to Witching Hour, pointing out that 'since when was the fact that you don't know any of the guests or the show important to you?' Watch this space.
