Off to see Sunday in the park with George. may be some time. I have no idea what this musical is like, but I managed to get a stall seat for 25 quid, and there was nothing good on at croydon cinema, and this was recced. Since I have been requested to give Jackie and Shaun an evening alone.

Soooo lucky! I wish I was there. That's a funky show, although I'm so used to Dot being Bernadette that I might have issues with someone else. I hope you enjoy it.

Jenna Russell! SQUEEEEEE!

And possibly the most technically brilliant show I've ever seen, and it's all done with projections, very little mechanics, unlike, say, Chitty.

That's cuz it's Sondheim, who's focus in on the actual music and writing, rather than on how many special effects you can pack in. Now, Chitty I don't blame, there were speical effects in the film amd you sort of have to have a flying car. When Lord of hte Rings goes there, there are lots of pretty elevators and effects. But the rest is crap. Was Jenna the one we saw in Guys and Dolls?

yup. i gushed embarassingly about how I saw her twice and she was fantastic even when she had the chest cold.

I feel like pointing to this production and going to all the shows that have ridiculous amounts of mechanics in the staging (that aren't necessary and have been known to stick thus causing fuck ups and even cancellations of performances - the second night of Grease when it was in the west end in the 90s springs to mind) and going 'This is how you do it, boys'.

Damn! She was great! I loved her If I Were a Bell. I bet she did There are Worse Things extremely well. That was brilliantly funny with Bernadette. Get miniosiris to show you the dvd.
