46,000 on the nose as of last night. Eat my dust, nano. And, er, I'll still probably be writing after a few days as Ellie and Jack have only tentatively made up. :muses: Maybe when the plot's finished, I can go back and edit some of the shite out.

This is kind of like last year, except last year, writing was so bloody slow (not to mention job hours were a nightmare) even though I had acres of possible plot. Still, kind of amusing to know I'll be finished easily by the time Torchwood airs on sunday night.

Woken at 11-ish by Lissy asking what I'd recommend for musicals just for good matinee. And huh. Turns out I appear to rate Producers, Guys and Dolls, and Evita most highly for just 'damn it, I want a good time'. She'd already seen Lion King.

Need to step outside today, since it is very nice and completely clear. Think I shall go when washing is done.

From all your posts it seems you really wrote your whole novel strictly chronologically?

The Producers didn't entertain me as much as Guys and Dolls, but I guess that also depends on the night.

yup. helped that i'm writing cinderella, but I also plotted it out something chronic to the last detail months ago. And then added scenes as I was writing. (as in, argh, I want them to go here, but realised this needs to happen first) Which seems to work pretty well. I know last time, I wrote a couple of scenes ahead, but it was mostly chronologically. It's kind of interesting discipline-wise, but does great things for your word count an keeping track of details - I tend to find my characters go off and do things that mean later scenes have to be re-written.

Producers I saw twice in two weeks, (same cast, a mate came down and went 'wanna go matinee!' and producers was on her short list), and the stage show is more entertaining than the film, IMHO. Guys and Dolls I love to pieces. they're just differently entertaining. I'd be interested to see Patrick Swayze, but fear the rest wouldn't live up to my memories of the original cast.

I am a little relieved to hear that you plotted and obviously prepared extensively, because otherwise I'd feel even worse, lol. In my defense, I hadn't planned on doing it at all, but still.

I never saw either of the films, only saw the plays in London. I was too late to see Ewan do it, but so very taken with thatguyfromEastenders and theotherguywhohadthesamefirstname that I didn't mind one bit, while Mel Brooks was too lead footed when I saw it.
