...dammit, I need more.

Arrgh. In one of those phases where I'm craving fic of a particular pairing. Anything - romance, angst, gen, snark, stabstab hatred, *anything*, and even though people are producing it steadily, it's NOT ENOUGH. :pokes Torchwood fandom: Why can't you be like Supernatural and produce fic by the bucketload on the hour?

Yes, my new obsession (fic-wise at least) is Jack/Ianto. I'm quite partial to Gwen/Owen too. I mean, I adore Rhys, I loved the fact that Gwen had a normal boyfriend, but Gwen/Owen I'm loving far too much. They just fit too well.

Jeeves and Wooster. I watched 5 eps of today in a 'argh taking up space on harddrive' fit. And concluded that there is no way the people in NYC didn't think they were gay, *especially* the building's elevator guy. and aww, Jeeves actually having to take a moment when Rocky said that he didn't even dress for dinner, he just stayed in his pyjamas and Bertie recognising his *pain*.. Mind you, terribly pouty that they changed the actress for Pauline Stoker between series. The original was interesting and ballsy, the new one? Just pretty. and didn't seem to give off the impression that she'd quite happily kick you in the balls.

What I really like about Gwen/Owen is how real they seem - they've totally got that delightfully horrible self-contained, self-involved thing of the newly coupled-up. If you knew them, you'd probably have to punch them.

hell yes. people at work who watch it were going 'and how great were the Gwen/Owen bits?'

oh my. This is like that time I got linked from HP forums. during which I boggled slightly. I never normally look at the stats, so maybe I ought to start searching where it's normally linked from more often...

Speaking personally, much as I adore Torchwood, I can do without stacks of (often)badly written, (usally) inaccurate, (frrquently) plot-free fanfic which would (pretty much inevitably) centre almost exclusively around sex.

And, infortunately, sifting through the dross for the (rare) well written, (infrequent) believable, (virtually non-existent)plot-heavy, (unlikely) virtually sex-free gems is something I have neightrer time, energy or inclination to do.

I mean when I was involved in fan-writing, my efforts weren't *good* by any stretch of the imagination (in most cases, they were barely adequate), but, sad to say, they were better than a lot I saw. the world of fan writing is better for the absence of my contributions and would be *far* better for the absence of any that are worse than mine (and a lot easier to navigate)

You're talking to someone (along with Taz) who's now got to the stage of going 'oh. sex.' :yawns, scrolls past the sex scene: in several fandoms. Torchwood, there is a certain amount of sex, but it's a fairly sex-free plot/character snippets-focussed fandom for all the fact that it contains Captain Jack Harkness.

Well, avoiding fanfiction.net means that you avoid a lot of the really bad stuff.
