Sun's just coming up over London. It's not the only thing colouring the sky; the smoke rising from the city and all the fires are competing. Jack walks to the edge of the roof. "Didn't think you'd get up this early."

Jenny looks up. "Didn't go to bed. Bloody disturbing that you know what this hour looks like as it is."

Jack grins. "I'm a morning person."

Jenny glares at him. "I'll thank you not to mention those words in my presence again, Sonny Jim."

"Couldn't help it." He crouches down next to her, and pulls a bottle from an inside pocket, handing it to her.

"Does this make up for it?"

Jenny accepts the bottle of whisky, blinking. "Where'd you get this, you lucky sod?"

"I know a few people." Jack grins.

"And I'll bet some of that knowing involved shagging them witless. Cheeky bugger." Jenny replies, twisting off the cap and taking a nip.

"Didn't see them complaining." Jack replies, holding out his hand for his turn. "So how's life in the weird Army division treating you?"

"Death-defying missions are becoming my speciality. How's the dissolute world of the lazy RAF pilot treating you, you pampered tosser? Managed to shag your way through it yet?" She asks, pulling out a fag, and gestures at him with it. "Got a light?"

"Still got a few to go." Jack replies, pulling out his lighter and flicking it on as she leans towards it, inhaling sharply. "Reminds me, I brought a couple of sandwiches with me. Bacon fine?"

"I'd kiss you right now if I didn't think you hadn't just finished sucking someone's cock ten minutes ago." Jenny replies.

"Never stopped you before." Jack grins, extracting the sandwiches and sitting down next to her, unwrapping his and taking a bite.

Jenny puts hers next to her, taking the time to savour her fag. "What're you going to do with yourself when this ends? Travel around a bit?" She blows some smoke out, then tilts the fag up to examine the glowing end, tilting her head to look at him. "You were in New York the first time I met you. What was the name of that one you were in, The Gay Marriage?"

"The Gay Divorce. I was playing the lead when Astaire wasn't." Jack says, smiling at the memory.

"Let me guess, shagged your way through the entire cast and front of house." Jenny says.

"I wouldn't dare comment."

Jenny gives him a look. "Harkness, unavailable for comment on anything involving shagging? Bollocks. I'll get it out of you soon enough."

"Make the most of now, I can entertain you later." Jack grins, reaching for the bottle and gesturing with it at the view. "Eat your sandwich, Jenny."

Little tiny thing -- it's Sunny Jim, and indeed the perfect nickname for Jack. And Sinatra in the Gay Divorce in 1932? Real life, it was Astaire (bit of a Cole Porter freak, me, despite De-Lovely Night and Day was Fred's song)

argh. I can't believe i put Sinatra... And yes, the crossover is De-Lovely.

And Sunny? When or where? Everywhere I've heard it written or used it was in the context of 'look, son'.

Sunny Jim was the "spokesperson" for a cereal for almost 100 years, as well known a figure as Tony the Tiger in his day, the cereal turned him from a grumpy guy into "Sunny Jim". It's all in Wikipedia. I remember because my grandpa used to eat it.

Huh. Never heard of it. Looked at the wikipedia article - I don't think the cereal and advert were ever available/shown in the UK.
