modding/community query
Feb. 21st, 2007 01:07 pmRight, for those of you who run communities (and also for those of you who're on communities), question :
How often do you reckon it's worth posting a rules reminder?
(I persist in the mild hope that they're just forgetful and need nudging)
Please to also bear in mind the fact that the fandom is going to expand due to the series airing in the US soon, thus creating more need for mod-stomping.

Date: 2007-02-21 02:37 pm (UTC)If there is a persistent problem with a lot or several people not following one or two of the rules then a mod post right then saying "there seems to be a problem with several people not following these specific rules" and then post only the rules that seem to be ignored.
If it's just one or two people that have a problem following rules then I would contact them personally via their email address and remind them. If he/she/they keep ignoring the rule, then I'd inform them I was removing them from the community and then do so.

Date: 2007-02-21 03:11 pm (UTC)I only tend to make 'read the rules' posts when someone hasn't. Rest of the time I don't bother to prompt. I suppose I'm more of a benign dictator than a bloody despot.
