Oh god. so dead. Spent last night at Pigalle club dancing from um... 8-3am.

Graham dragged me there to see his fave band, the Magnets. Started with some swing stuff, then main act who are... dear lord. Acapella with two members on base and beatbox (Derek base, Andy the human drum, piano and everything else section). Bloody amazing. Then more singing from other group, then dj.

Swing section (Steve and his other band) I grabbed Graham and pulled him onto floor, where it is clear we need to learn how to dance with a partner (or at least have one of us who knows what we're doing rather than one of us being half-decent at faking it). bouncy through the Magnets set with everyone else, then dance little socks off.

Got, um, a lot of admiring glances during the swing section, partially because there were only three of us on the floor (Pigalle being a tiny dinner club), then got hauled up on stage to demonstrate 'Blame it on the Boogie' when the band were doing it. 'You all know how to do it, right? Don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the - hang on, she does it far better than me.' :yoink: Going to kill Derek. Then proceeded to wiggle rest of night through without leaving dancefloor. Once again it appears number of people who can actually dance (or at least do more than moving from foot to foot) is... not that many, so if you can dance (especially if one can shimmy), you get a lot of attention. One bloke thought Graham was my husband. Er, *no*. Band are happy fun bouncy people who know and love most of their loyal fans, no-one there could believe I'd never seen them before and only came because I got badgered into it. Graham was very happy because as a Strictly Come Dancing addict, one of the guys off that (the latin champion, I think), Matt Cutler was there dancing and seeing the band and ended up being one of the last lot on the dancefloor (you know, that last two hours which is all 70s, 80s and supreme cheese and everyone sings along and is very, very silly) and so all six-eight of us were dancing with each other. Matt is lovely and so is his boyfriend, who doesn't have the stamina of the rest of us. Slightly, um, stunned the others, including Matt, with my party trick which is spinning like a top and *not* falling over to the twiddly bit on 'La Bamba' - could hear them going 'oh god she's going to fall, she's going *faster*, she's going to fall - how the hell did she not fall?' Clue : do this since you were tiny. End of night, everyone attempts to leave but keeps getting side-tracked, and it appears am only one who has to get up at 8am next morning. *bastards*. Band thanked me for dancing so much. Derek got threatened with death several times...

Oh god. so, so knackered.

I am very envious by the energy displayed in this post :) Sounds like a fabulous evening, wish I had the stamina for that.

Matt Cutler. Swoon! As a Strictly Come Dancing fan also, I love to see guys who can pull off the sexy moves.

The man's hips are just... mesmerising. he'll suddenly shimmy and you wonder if they're actually greased. Graham saw me staring a few times and went 'did he shimmy?' Wasn't doing much in the way of the sexy, just normal and laughing his head off.
