In regards to the rent debacle, we've sent off a letter asking who precisely is going to pay that much for a council flat in a council estate whose main thing going for it is location - as one flatmate pointed out, it's basically student digs. Anyone who can spend that much is going to want a much nicer place with bigger rooms, a better and more modern kitchen, a much better bathroom, and ... not on a council estate. Oh, and apparently he once tried to put up the rent on the small rooms to £450 - no-one took them at that price so he was forced to reduce to £400. Waiting for response.

still, gotta go search gumtree. At times like these you really need a map with all the areas of London listed just to get some idea of where they're talking about.

listening to Chicago soundtrack, which is probably one of the best examples around of how arrangement and delivery can completely crucify or make brilliant one song - one version is a big solo throaty power ballad, one cutesy and one jazz cabaret.
