pondering. Opinion on those friending memes?

I mean, I hate them and think they're pointless (and had fun pissing off a comm member by deleting her post every time she tried to - to the point where she went 'why are you deleting this? I didn't see anything in the rules about it, it's not a hate meme!' Me : 'OT. The comm itself is a biiiiiig interactive friending meme. Also, see 'mod is petty and can and will delete without warning'. Any opinions?

I'm evil. I've been cackling every time her friending memes get deleted. As spectator-sports go, I'm a fan. *waves pom poms* That and I agree with your opinion: comm = massive friending meme anyway. Anything else is just vanity comment maxing.

Also let the hippy-skippy friending memes through and you haven't got much of a kill switch for the 'we can be as wanky as whatever-hip-fandom' hate meme advertising.

*uses pencil sharpener on pitchfork prongs* I'd just keep on being petty. It's delightful. Added plus is you can wind the twerp up until she screams 'UR VINDICTIIIIIIIIVE!'. Then toy with them for a little bit, play with their minds, souls and what's left of their sanity before hurling them into the abyss.

This is the first time I've heard of them, since I don't spend much time on comms these days. But would this be someone posting on a comm going "I want more friends, friend me and I'll friend you"? Sounds like a totally pointless exercise to me. Because, um, yeah... imo, that's what a comm is for: you meet / read the posts of people you've got stuff in common with, and then you friend them. What, does it take too much work to go through that complicated process or something?
