it's today
Jun. 15th, 2008 08:52 pmSpent today at my aunt's birthday party, which was mostly family with some friends. It always vaguely disturbs me that I'm on first name terms with a bunch of my cousin's mates. First thing Rose said was 'my god you've lost weight!' Huh. Appears to only be readily apparent to my eyes in this outfit.
And now, that me-meme.
1. First Name: heather. Only ever shortened to 'Heth' (hard 'th') by people from Walthamstow, or who picked it up from their parents/spouses. Who are from Walthamstow.
2. Age: 29
3. Location: London and Reading.
4. Occupation: Proofreader. Which also involves format checking, making arbitary and nasty decisions just to be difficult (but correct), and making people's lives difficult.
5. Partner?: Nup.
6. Kids: I do want. one day.
7. Brothers/Sisters: One brother, four years older than me, who's... generally logistics and office jobs. Used to have an ongoing war of who'd nicked whose books when we both still lived at home.
8. Pets: nada. unless you count the blokes in my dept, who all the girls find it best to treat as rambunctious puppies in need of training. And banging on the nose with a rolled up newspaper.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
i. looking for a new job.
ii. needing to move back out of parentals.
iii. er.
10. Where and for what did you go to school for? Falmouth College of Art for Photography BA, which I just about scraped through. Not exactly much use beyond an ability to disseminate things in language that scares other people, since I tended to do the same at college.
11. Parents: Mum's a computers person and dad's a geophysicist. Due to his job, my brother lived in Oklahoma for the first few years of his life and I was born in the Far East and picked up a whole bunch of body language that confuses other people. He's the reason I have a love of history, art, theatre, musicals, sci-fi and was exceedingly cynical about business practices at the age of ten, due to him discussing work around the dinner table.
12. Who are some of your closest friends?: Erm... work people,
megolas,
jamjar, and several others. Lots of extended family convention crowd.
