Seriously. I'd forgotten how much leather *sheds*. Leather dust all over the damn table.

That and after two seconds of attempting to get a pin - let alone a needle - through some, remembered why all the stuff I'd done on the suede was machine-stitch. Making a belt loop for the first pouch and a new pouch was henceforth done with the leather hole punch and the leather cord. Yep. One of those 'but why did they do it like that?' cases. Where if you ever try to make it yourself, you learn very, very quickly why they used that technique.

Leather's a bee-aitch. Either you make holes and use thonging [like you did] or you get a hard-ass sewing machine and the toughest needles you can buy [e.g. denim needles].
