:sigh: really thinking of scrapping the pub scene since it seems like it belongs to a different story, one where you get the reflection of Helen walking into the WI and finding out that Susan was the person who got that fair that nearly collapsed under its own weight under control. Yes? No?

I think the pub scene needs to stay. Something needs to plant the seed of doubt in Robert’s mind… The notion that, by some people at least, his eldest son is to be feared.

IMHO, you got that over really well. When you come down to it, this is actually a very scary story.

'verse, and bedlamsbard once had us talking about Pevensie parents (her Pevensies are *infinitely* more psycho than mine), realised I wanted to write Helen's reaction to her children coming back wrong. now trying to sort it out some more.
