american teen british visits in films
Apr. 25th, 2011 07:09 pmOr rather, how is that so many of these involve accidentally bumping into one of the Royal family and the royal personage ends up thinking that they're charming, funny and they totally get on?
American teen is normally exceedingly clumsy (or does something monumentally awkward in front of said Royal) and the Royal finds this charming. Often the meeting happens because the teen has somehow accidentally ended up in the palace or private part of the palace.
Cue every UK person going 'er, WTF?'
Mostly because we are learned of things called security and access. And vetting.
The only British book I can think of that has something even vaguely similar in it is The BFG, and that's because giant invisible giant. And that has security issues.
Can anyone think of a British film or book that has such a situation?
