Doctor Who 7.05
Sep. 30th, 2012 03:14 pmStarted jogging again on saturday, continued sunday, knee holding up, re-discovered muscles I'd forgotten about... oh hello foot blisters. Done half an hour, slowly, to the pylon and back.
The noir setting? *awesome*. Very cool ideas. I loved the book so much, and for a bit did think it'd been written by Amy, not River, once they'd got stuck in the past. And who wouldn't kill for a Melody Malone series? Angels: not as creepy as Blink, but still very effective. Baby angel gigglng: GAH. The whole battery thing was a cool idea. Statue of Liberty angel was a bit... silly, but still interesting idea. And according to poking around the web, the statue was closed for renovation in 1938.
Doctor/River, with the banter and the Doctor smoothing his hair out and the banter and touching and then River breaking her wrist but trying not to tell him... yeah. shipping them so hard. Which'll be interesting for the rest of Eleven's run wrt future companions, because although the Ponds/Doctor thing is totally believable, Eleven very clearly considers himself married to River. Still, he is a completely ginormous flirt when it comes to the right person.
And then PONDS. Oh gods. Rory going through with the logic of trying to break the paradox by jumping off the roof so Amy would be safe and Amy not letting him do it without her and then the final bit in the graveyard and 'Melody, you be a good girl' and turning specifically knowing the Angel will get her...
Add on the final postscript and little Amelia looking up at the TARDIS noise, which we now know is the Doctor coming back to tell her Amy's postscript.
Cue me screaming 'Steven Moffat, you bastard!' and be a sobbing mess for a good fifteen minutes afterwards. And then going on tumblr and seeing the gifs of that last bit an hour later and being a sobbing mess *again*. Had to watch the Eleventh Hour to get myself back and happy and watching young Ponds. Tom Hopper (Percival of the fucking massive muscles in Merlin) was Jeff? Jeff with the laptop and 'get a girlfriend'? Have now realised how tall Matt Smith *is*, because he was only a few inches shorter than Tom.
:deep breath: roll on Christmas and not-Oswin.
And after not-Oswin, can we have a male companion, who the Doctor has immense amounts of sexual tension and flirting and snoggage with?

Date: 2012-09-30 11:38 pm (UTC)So, casting! They've sent out casting calls for the Big Four: Melody, Adele Rivers, Rufus Rivers and Dr. Smith. No word yet on Agent Everett, but they don't really need to cast him: he doesn't turn up until Sirens? Mermaids? (ETA: The internet has spoken, he has a definite cameo in Sirens, and a possible cameo in Once Upon A Time, but his first talking appearance is indeed in Mermaids.) Likewise Madame. Eeeee, really looking forward to this! Don't let them screw her up!
