burntcopperHEE. Saw Priscilla : Queen of the Desert last night and it is utterly, utterly fab. Way too much fun. More ridiculous costumes, spangles, bitchery and singalong tunes you could not ask for. Barely anything changed from the film, aside from more musical numbers and the Abba refs being changed to Kylie ones due to the musical being several years on from the film (oh, and Mamma Mia already using 'em).
Jason Donovan as Tick... not bad, but barely any voice to speak of. Playing the straight man sandwiched inbetween the utterly fucking fabulous Tony Sheldon as Bernadette and Oliver Thornton as Felicia. Tony oozes style, class and middle-aged trannie grace and femininity, and Oliver? Steals the fucking show by being queeny, bitchier than thou, selfish, hideously bendy, half nekkid and doing quite a bit of rather fab singing. Bob is lovely. And him + Bernadette were producing so many 'awwww's from the crowd.
