Saw Kill Bill vol 2, and encouraged others in line who were going to see Shaun of the Dead, pointing out that it was fantastic and has best use of Queen ever in it. Volume 2 is pretty, and different in tone from Vol 1, and in some ways I like it better. Possible because there's no anime or concentrating on something just for the style. This was more concentrated on the art of filmmaking, and the dialogue, and the music that adds tone, and the power of silence and emotion. Nothing flashy. Vol 1 was the gimmicks part, vol 2 is the one where Tarantino shows us just how good he is with the raw material. And I love Daryl Hannah into little bitty pieces.
I have the new Pratchett! I have the new Pratchett! A Hatful of Sky, ina bookshop near you. There is Tiffany, and Nac Mac Feegle, and she's eleven and... I'm only ten or so pages in, so anyone who spoils me dies.
Am off to sew buttons and ribbon onto top.
