Watched first ep of Generation kill on FX. not entirely sure how I feel about it yet.

Waiting for Chris Meloni to show up and have his character be terribly nice and cute around actor whose name i can't remember who played Toby in Oz, and steal the 'gayest member of the squad' title from Rudy. Or for Toby-actor to flip out and knife a bunch of people.

Being Human. ♥ that is all. Dear Russell Tovey, please stop being that cute. And I couldn't do a proper lie-in this mornng so hauled self out of bed and watched Something for the Weekend because Russell would be on it. It is gentle chat and cooking with occasional celebs and clips of what's coming up this week on tv. I think the pitch was 'hangover tv'.

Usual suspects - is anyone doign owt on wednesday and feels like going to see Milk? There should be somewhere in the west end showing it... Also, we need to arrange Avenue Q since it ends in march.

catalogued most of my comics pile that I could find, aside from the marvel stuff. Kind of wish I could find where the parentals put the rest of it, since I know there's a damn sight more than this small mound, and getting rid of it sooner rather than leaving it moulder is better. dunno how much of it people from work will want - that goes on the loot page at the beginning of Feb, so I'll let them have first go at it, then figure out where else to post ads for it. Any ideas?

Was hesitantly removing comms from my flist in the name of cutting down. I think I managed about 6, due to paranoia about the torchwood comms. Never mind the fact that I'm currently skipping over most of it. We'll see how much of it I consume with new canon available.

The ones i really wish i could cut out are, unfortunately, the ones I run. The Robin Hood ones. I've read maybe ten pieces of fic since S1. All I'm really doing is housekeeping and whip cracking at the appropriate times.

They're reporting that obama's planning to allow the various states to set their own emissions targets - good, bad, insignificant? (obviously some states will be utterly draconian and some go 'all hail the great god pollution')

<-- still happy about the gag rule. Because yay less deaths from lack of funding, botched abortions and death in childbirth... (I'd love to see the stats on that. Are there any studies on the difference in the female death rate when abortion is made legal?)

Look : smudged eyeliner, messy curls that've got hair product in to stay that way, etc.

Mid-morning : grabbing people and going 'augh, does this look like just a mess or a *calculated* mess?'

So far the consensus is calculated mess that works. phew. And now that the paranoia moment has passed, I'm fine with it.

Listened to the new track from Prodigy, 'Omen'. Consensus : meh. Doesn't really sound like much, no decent hook, nothing to distinguish it from any other group. Boys, this is no 'Breathe', 'Voodoo People' or 'Firestarter'.

Hmm. In the ongoing quest to free up storage space, I just realised I've got 2/3 shelf of videos. Some, unfortunately, I don't have dvd duplicates of (Laurence Fishburne/Branagh Othello, come out on R2 dvd already!) but I believe I should be able to safely ditch stuff like Best of Father Ted.

btw : I implore you to watch Todd Carty's Dancing on Ice ...performance. A man who manages to be even more shite at ice skating than John Sargeant's attempt at ballroom dancing. They actually made a *feature* of it in the choreography. scores from the judges of 1.0 and 2.0, but *they're* crying with laughter - which makes them look like good sports unlike the Strictly Come Dancing lot.
