superhero figures and other things

Last night, while helping Jackie with her Emma Frost costume, I was pondering what costumes I wanted to do, and also what superhero ones I could do.
I'd love to do Meggan from the original Excalibur (does anyone know what's happened to her in canon? Her hubbie is in the new Excalibur team, but I don't remember any sign or mention of her). Jenny Sparks and Dazzler I have done. Couldn't think of anyone else I wanted to do, aside from re-doing Black Canary, though on the way home I pondered doing Arrowette. Pretty much limiting myself to blonde heroines, since I try to limit wig wearing.
This segued into me pondering heroines that I could do, shape-wise. Meggan's the closest to me, since she's not too tall, and she's curvy, having been invented by Alan Davis, who likes to draw women with things like thighs and hips and tits. Wonder Girl also possible, as is Arrowette and Spoiler. So's Supergirl. (I'm 5'3" and I'm curvy. The majority of heroines? Tall and skinny with big tits.) I'm probably about a cup size above Jenny Sparks.
This then segued into pondering why the hell is it, aside from the teenage heroines, there's so very few superheroes you can tell apart by size and shape. Once you discount the teenagers and the ones built on massive scale, like the Hulk and Thor, it starts coming down to 'count 'em on two hands'. Which is... kind of depressing.
Spider-man - wiry and shorter than most 6' and over heroes.
Wolverine - shortarse.
Puck - shortarse.
Starman (Jack Knight) - fit, but *normal person* fit.
Kitty Pryde - short and skinny. (B-cup, *shock horror*)
She-Hulk - green goddess.
Big Barda - built on a bigger scale than thou.
Power Girl - massive breasts, yes, but also drawn as *muscled*.
Jenny Sparks - medium height, bit on the slim side, 'does not have the tits for spandex body-condoms' (which means less than a D cup, going by most comics)
Swift - Tibetan, therefore shorter. (which brings me to ponder that Psylocke is bloody stupid in current 'Kwannon' form - how many 5'10" Japanese women with big tits do you know?)
Manhunter - normal size female.
Somehow I doubt the fact that Nightwing is acknowledged to have the best arse in the DCU would manage to put him on the list. Though at least they always make the distinction that he's shorter than Bruce when placed side-by side.
....Surely there's got to be more who have a template sheet hammered into the heads of artists. They can't all be cookie cutter, surely? The fact that I can think of more women than men is actually depressing, since there's got to be more male superheroes who aren't the standard '6' and built' they seem to roll out.
