Someone is evil. Beauty and the beast + historical + SGA Mcshep.... :hyperventilates: (oddly, the mcshep bit is the weakest part. The outside the castle stuff is the best, in my opinion.) The moment someone writes SGA Snow Queen with background detail this rich I'm going to be so very dead of hyperventilation. (ETA : Actually, technically, anytime anyone writes SGA which starts off as getting to know each other, best friends/lovers, long detailed journey to get one of them back who was kidnapped, then getting them back with added growing closer, you write Snow Queen. I believe [livejournal.com profile] seperis is writing a damn good version of this particular trope right now, spoilers for 3x10. It's just that no-one specifically *says* it's Snow Queen and they don't use the setting. Rodney's a very good Gerda, and John - attaching his sled to the Snow Queen's sleigh because it's a bet and it's going fast? *Such* a Kay. Hmm. I may need to get that Christmas version they did on dvd.) The reason I like Snow Queen is because it's damsel in distress reversal with lots of details and the characters actually grow up and change as the story goes along.

Arm + shoulder still in pain and twinging, with added twinges across the back of my head, my back and a few other places. Yes, nervous system, I know these places are connected, you don't have to remind me. Not fun when it happens, mostly just a dull ache. Not sure when physiotherapist will get round to me, NHS waiting lists being what they are. This is seriously annoying, because my family is one of those very healthy families who just use the GP/hospital for check-ups, or sprained ankles, or things like appendicitis. Teeth besides orthodontics went private in my early teens, so I didn't have to wait to have my jaw looked at, which was the last major thing. Speaking of teeth, had the new hygienist yesterday. Who came out with 'you do a lot of mouth-breathing. Sinus problems?' Cue a lot of blinking. Took suction thingy out of mouth and went 'um, general cold for past couple of months, how can you tell?' Apparently a sign of mouth breathing is build up of plaque/tartar behind top front teeth, because you don't spend enough time with your mouth closed for your tongue to rub away most of it.

Need to catch up with SG-1 and watch ep 10 of SGA. Also most recent ep of supernatural. BSG is going to have my fingernails worn down to the quick in about two seconds if they continue like this.

Robin Hood I'm happy with. Flinching at the camera work, but loving everything else. [livejournal.com profile] jamjar and I are of the opinion that Guy and Marian need to get married, because they are grown-ups and understand politics. And once they are married, they will occasionally put in calls for Robin when they feel like a treat. Because though he's fine for sex, the overgrown puppy and immaturity wears on you a bit.

In related news, I had the slightly frightening prospect of having new community in new fandom on saturday. Every few hours, [livejournal.com profile] robinhoodbbc grew by 10 new members. How the hell are they finding it? The first ten or so people were flist, or flist of flist. And it's only going to grow. Oh shite, what did I do?

Hmmp. Why have I seen bugger all supernatural/Smallville crossover fic? (besides the rps, which is plentiful) Maybe the sheer pretty wouldn't be able to cope, plus the whole Jensen crossover factor. You'd think that would be in its favour. Midwest! Slashiness! Pretty! Weird happenings! Seriously, I've seen more SGA/Supernatural than I have Smallville/Supernatural.

BSG was a triumphant return to form after a few wobbly episodes in the second half of last season. Talk about thought provoking!
