pantopantopanto

:hyperventilates:

To the usual suspects - John's out to kill himself with overwork and laughing himself into an early grave again this christmas.

19th Dec - 27th Jan, Birmingham Hippodrome, Aladdin.

Who's with me? Dates, people.

Also. anyone got the galactica soundtrack? I for some reason have the Roslin and Adama track on my playlist, and it's bloody gorgeous (wave slightly middle-eastern in my face and see me drool) - rest of it like this?

Hmm. :pokes concepts: Is there a word for people who clearly fancy each other, know it's reciprocated, but aren't doing much about it at present? And sort of give off sort of taken vibes? Y'know, those people who everyone know are going to end up together. It's not UST because it's acknowledged and they're normally quite comfortable about it. Does 'fancy each other' cover it or are there better words?

ETA : having discussed it with [livejournal.com profile] jamjar, we believe that this is what technically known as an 'understanding'.

Need to find a guacamole recipe.

Also, I just got tagged for a usability/presentation meeting in the role of outsider tomorrow. Huh.

Joseph : Ben finally got ejected this week. Doubt he'll have problems finding a job - his sheer stage presence and entertainment quality is stunning, just his voice that needs a bit of work. As Denise said, your eyes are riveted by Ben but your ears are riveted by Keith. And if you're going by live theatre, visual/stage presence is often more important than a pure voice. Lewis' performance during the sing-offs and team-up with Lee showed a very, very mature performance - I don't think he'll win, but if he can control the pressure he'll do good later on. Quite possible Andrew'll keep him in reserve in case of problems / sick leave since he fulfils pretty much all the criteria that Andrew wants for Joseph and any possible going to pieces/stage fright can be trained out of him. Fingers so, so crossed for Lee to win, since we don't know who gets highest votes, only lowest - I seriously hope there isn't a massive gap between Keith and Lee, since we don't know if Keith can act. Which does not bode well for the second act. We know he can pull off the tearjerker, but the strength? And I don't remember him doing too well in the loincloth bit either. Must go back and re-watch to see how Lewis did.

I think that's what is or at least used to be called "flirts".

I hear with enough alcohol or drugs in the mix, they might be doing something about it, but still would not consider themselves or be considered to be in a relationship (read too many bios).

If you're doing a December date I should be up for it, but I'm heading back to Italy beginning of Jan. The 27th is always good because people are usually out of any family obligations by then, and haven't started the New Years celebrations just yet.

As for phrases, 'doing a Ross and Rachel' is still used these days, although more often used to describe a couple who just go on and off with regularity. I however prefer just saying 'they're close'.

Guacamole!

[identity profile] katemonkey.livejournal.com 2007-06-06 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)

  • Two mushy avocados

  • Tablespoon or two of creme fraiche

  • Cumin

  • Chili powder

  • Splash of lime juice (or lemon juice)

  • Small amount of chopped onion

  • Small amount of chopped peppers

  • Clove of garlic, chopped finely

Mash avocados with a fork, stir in the creme fraiche, add the onions, peppers, and garlic, then add the cumin and chili powder to taste. Splash in the juice, and you're done!

I went with rummaging in the fridge to produce something that still tastes better and more guacamole-y than your average supermarket dip.

mashed avocado (sadly not mushy enough), half a lemon, chopped chilli, garlic, black pepper and three chopped tomatoes. YUM.

Is it too late to put my name down for the panto trip? I'm good for any dates but a matinee would be easiest.
