well, in other news, darkisrising.net is back up. Yay!

Kabukivice.com is due to expire in _insert month here_, I'm bored of kabukivice in general as you know, so will let it expire so I've just got darkisrising and burntcopper. Need to transfer everything over to those two. So out of curiosity, poll!

[Poll #884789]

Updated Oi Yanks No with the history bit I've been rambling about recently and *finally* corrected the quote on the front page. Half the emails I get for that site were about that quote, I just never got round to it.

Whilst poking my web stuff, I found my 'ideas for sites' folder. Which included a bit for a Wes/Faith site, back when I was still seriously into btvs writer's guild and mad about sites in general. I remember I didn't want it to be a writer's guild site, due to the restrictions and so on, but was still pissed off enough with the fluffy/coquettish thing that the at-the-time guild site had going, with their image of Wes still stuck in S3 Btvs and 'OMIGOD accent!' But I do love the site statement I wrote for the pairing (which, btw, i still love) :

I will witter on about my life sometime, honest. And I may even write something about Serenity Squared, except that will go 'pretty cool funny actors. Lots of Neil Roberts converts. Communion was kinda boring if you've done it before. We love Nathan Fillion. stewarded, sold people photos. Radisson piss artists, especially re: triple booking us. Accountants that shouldn't be allowed out into polite society. Indian weddings of the pretty. Partying. Ridiculous amounts of photos in James Bond shoot, and most photos *ever* of the Ursula Andress Bikini (yes, it deserves capitals). Christina Hendricks loved my Saffron costume, and we got lots of cheers for the Mal-Saffron piece. Hawaiian Sith am I. Have decided that I'm going to always be an apprentice, dammit, because it's more fun and you don't have to wear the robes.'

Goblet of Fire was damn cool. Want dvd *now*. Helloooooo Beauxbatons robes. Canon HP outfits I would be willing to wear. (I want to wear Durmstrang, too, but it's boys only)

Anyway. Recs. Be My Fay Wray. It's Harmony fic. Harmony/Fred fic. In the Birthdayverse. That's three reasons right there.

Vid rec. PotC. It's Sparrington, though equally could be just straight Sparrow-Norrington, because it works on the level of both. The song and vid describe their relationship in both canon and shippy fanon. And it's fucking *hysterical*. Seriously. I grabbed one of my fellow geeks at work (I'm champion geek, according to the Geek test, which shows you the sad state of affairs when a never-roleplayed-in-her-life fangirl beats the entire software development department of an internet company), sat him down, stuck the headphones on him and he couldn't stop laughing. The song took over my brain to the extent that I went begging among my mates to get the Wicked ST because Play had sold out. But the song itself is pure genius, and the vid is even more so. What is this Feeling (aka Loathing) right click, save, and just watch the damn thing.

Oh, and you know those godawful fic challenges of BtVS-Scotland (the historically innacurate romantic bodice ripper version, of course) and then there's Africander, Xander does Africa (cue [livejournal.com profile] megolas frothing at the mouth and me screaming 'Angola has all this cool history that I want to explore' ? 'Swaziland RepraZENT, I did it in my UN module' ? WTFBBQ?'), So I have decided the time has come for the Buffyverse to do....

:drumroll:

Berkshire.

SEE Dawn get a job in the IT or insurance industry and go out and get lashed every weekend!

SHUDDER as Buffy gets a job as a secondary school PE teacher, quit with a nervous breakdown and then join Thames Valley Police in Newbury dealing with all the drug addicts and dealers because it's less stressful and she's less likely to get attacked, and mutter about all the bloody snobs coming in for the racing!

GASP as Xander gets a job at Wernham-Hogg in Slough because he helps fulfill the disabled quotient and knows how to fix the photocopier!

SCREAM as Giles gets his job back at the British Museum, commutes into London everyday from somewhere slightly less polluted but equally as expensive and spends his saturday mornings traversing the local Farmer's Market and his sunday afternoons at a series of country pubs near or on the Oxfordshire border, with occasional forays to Guildford on weekday evenings for the theatre and the cinema at his local multiplex on sunday evenings!

SHIVER as Oz comes to Reading during Festival season and never leaves, making his home from home in the world cafes, organic food places, and live music scene in the town centre, with occasional forays to Glastonbury, the other music festivals, Cardiff, Brighton and Cornwall and Devon, and goes about once a month to Camden to the food stalls along the lock and to get new clothing!

CONVULSE as Willow gets sneered at as a poser and retreats into some IT company in Bracknell, soul slowly dying amidst the concrete and ring roads, and no-one ever goes to visit her because they refuse to set foot in any part of the place that isn't the John Nike sports centre and she can't get out because it sucks her soul to pieces!

CHEER as Tara gets resurrected and starts work at an organic food place in a little picture postcard village that everyone else commutes from to London, Reading or Oxford, getting a nice girlfriend and having all their other food needs delivered by Opodo or Tesco's!

[livejournal.com profile] louiselux, fancy adding to any of these? er, [livejournal.com profile] dolores, this is ALL YOUR FAULT, so feel free to stop me anytime.

Fic! Fic!
